Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev has appointed Askar Myrzakhmetov as the country's agriculture minister, said the president's press service May 6.
Myrzakhmetov has served as the First Deputy Chairman of Kazakhstan's ruling Nur Otan party since August 2015.
He served as Kazakhstan's agriculture minister in 2005-2006.
Earlier, the country's agriculture minister Assylzhan Mamytbekov has resigned due to demonstrations against the adopted amendments to the Land Code.
