DUSHANBE, April 8, 2016, Asia-Plus – A two-way trade between Tajikistan and Pakistan is planned to reach US$500 million in the coming years.
“Interaction between the leaders of our countries paved the way for further expansion of bilateral cooperation and they hope that trade volume between the two countries will reach US$500 million in the near future,” Pakistani Ambassador to Tajikistan Tareeq Iqbal Soomro said on April 8 while inaugurating Made in Pakistan Exhibition in Dushanbe.
Pakistan diplomat expressed confidence that support of private sector would promote achievement of those goals.
According to the data of the Agency for Statistics under the president of Tajikistan, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and Pakistan last year valued at some 65 million U.S. dollars, which was nearly 28 percent fewer than in 2014.
