Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei said the two countries have firm resolve to develop their mutual cooperation, particularly in the field of science, and good news are expected to be released on Tehran-Moscow bilateral ties in coming weeks.
Addressing a conference held in a university in St. Petersburg titled as 'Russia and Iran: Dialog of Cultures', Sanaei hailed the growing trend of collaborations between the two countries in scientific, academic, and technological fields
He further referred to the last year’s formation of the High Committee for Iran-Russia Scientific and Technologic Cooperation as well as the joint union of Iranian and Russian higher education institutes as among important achievements of the two countries in this field within the past year.
“Of course the ideal level of Iran-Russia cooperation in science and technology is higher than the current one, and we should try harder than ever (to boost ties), but the trend of relations is going on well,” he went on to say.
During the conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in a message read out by his representative praised the 500-year-long relations between the two countries, and described as valuable the friendly ties between Tehran and Moscow.
He also expressed the hope that such conferences and sessions in universities and academic centers would accelerate the growth of Iran-Russia cultural relations.
In this academic event, a valuable collection of books on Iran’s history, culture, and literature was gifted by the Iranian Allameh Tabatabaei University, and a special section for Iranian books was also opened in the central library of Saint-Petersburg University of the Humanities and Social Sciences.
